Everything has a first time. There is the first day of school, the first day on a new job, the first date – many firsts. Remember how nervous you were on your first day of school and on the fist day of your job and definitely on your first date? This is my first post on my first blog. I’m a little nervous so please go easy on me. The title of the blog can be read two ways: Yeshua* Matters and Yeshua Matters. The first way is a clear and unambiguous statement about the importance and the centrality of Yeshua. The second way tells you that this blog is about matters concerning life in Yeshua and the Messianic Jewish Movement. The plan is to write about such topics as the subject of the weekly sermon at Beth Messiah; comment on current events that affect Judaism, Israel and the Messianic Jewish Community, share insights from the Scriptures and answer as well as pose questions that are important to the Messianic Jewish Movement. I will periodically give a review of important books and articles and I will also take the opportunity from time to time to explain why we believe that Yeshua is the Messiah and why Jewish identity and practice are importnat to us. The vision is to educate, encourage, equip and empower the Messianic Jewish Community. Finally, I have to thank my daughter Heather for the picture at the top of the page and for helping me choose the appearance of the blog. Soon there will be a page devoted to the photos of Heather.
